Oh, Verizon
I don’t know if you use Verizon Wireless as your cellular service provider, but let me tell you, I think they have one of the most user-unfrindly websites I’ve ever seen. I’ve emailed them before about this, but not in the way I did today. I supposedly found a way to send an email right to the top, the President. Of what I don’t know. His name is Wayne, and I sent him this note:
“Wayne, my friend, this is one of the most poorly designed websites I have ever seen. Not only at the corporate level, but at any level. Do you realize that it thinks Safari 1.0 (Apple’s newest browser and one of the most standards-compliant browsers on the market) is an outdated browser that needs to be upgraded? Do you realize that almost EVERY link on the site opens a pop-up window, which the typical user DESPISES? It’s almost bad enough to make me want to switch cellular companies. I don’t know if the Verizon web team in internal or outside hired guns, but have them fired and suggest hiring someone who knows about web standards. Please. You can thank me later when you got the promotion. When someone new gets hired in at the topmost level and realizes how horrible the flow of the website is, don’t say I didn’t at least warn somebody.
Thanks,
ryan masuga”
Not the most literate sounding gripe, but it was spur of the moment. I was upset at how long it took me to change my billing address. I’m willing to bet that I spoke for more people than just myself.
In other news, I have to admit I spent some time at this site: Boobah and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Cool music, sound effects, and interaction. The scene where they’re dancing around, well…I imagine that if I liked it then the target audience probably thinks it’s the bomb.
