Happy Birthday…to Me

SuperChexx aka Bubble-Hockey Yesterday was my 32nd birthday and it was about all I could ask for. The highlights of the day, in no particular order: I took Parker for a walk to the school near our house with my brother, who is in town for the week from Denver. Parker went nuts running around with us on the snowy baseball diamonds and chasing snowballs - a very fun time. After walking the dog, I went out to dinner with my wife and my brother, which was highly enjoyable as well. There was plenty of good food, good conversation, and smooth, brown beer. Perhaps the most fun thing I did was to get a six-pack of beer and bring my brother to our office where the Super Chexx machine resides in all its addictive glory. We came in at 10:30 p.m. and played for four solid hours. Which means we left at 2:30 a.m., and yes, I am working today and I’m pretty dang tired. But it was worth it. It’s one of those times I’m sure I’ll remember for ages - my brother and I just hanging out like we did when we were kids, competing, having fun, talking trash, winning, losing, and laughing in a world where nothing exists but we two. Thanks, Kyle, that was a great birthday present.

Anytime Ry, I’m sure you already know but the next time just won’t be soon enough! I’m still in Michigan and can’t wait to play again! Remember save a grand and I’ll save a grand too, then we’ll have home ice advantage against Steve and Bryan. Time to train…
