I Hate Internet Explorer. My Site Looks Like Ass-Crap!

Haha! I’m on a tear tonight, baby. Spent almost two hours trying to fix stupid bugs in this ridiculously maddening browser. It’s the Netscape Navigator of the mid 2000’s. At any rate, while working on fixing a stupid line-height problem in unordered lists, I discovered my own site looks horrendous in Explorer, when I had previously spent time making an alternate stylesheet so that the PNG images I use wouldn’t be served up. Apparently, that broke along the way somewhere. Instead of fretting, I laughed.

Now I just need to find one of those little corner graphics that claims my site is “Too Cool for IE” (in other words, I’ve got other shit to do than worry about whether or not someone who bought their eMachine at Wal-Mart can see my site the way I intended it to be seen).

I found the graphic at Paulasaurus Rex. My site, too looks like “ass-crap” in Internet Explorer! Though I think I will follow the suggestion of one of the commenters and change the badge to “Too apathetic for IE.”

Just a bit of harmless fun that won’t change a damn thing, but what the hell. Corner graphics are in.

  1. Eric pontificated:

Your site looks great. I saw your post on the WP support page about fixing the dropdown comments for WP 1.5. How’d you do that? It’s driving me nuts.

  2. ryan spake, and sayeth:

Fixing the dropdown comments involved quite a bit of finagling around in the code. If you’re really interested, I can try and break down what I did. It might be good information for other WordPress users who have upgraded to 1.5 to know.

Now if I could only figure out how I broke my stylesheet in Safari only, i’d be happy.

you can email me at ryan at masuga dot you know what.
