Got a Second Wind
I used to be a workout freak: working out 4 days a week, taking creatine, rollerblading to and from the gym, and then I sort of…hit 30. Ever since then I just haven’t had the same outlook on exercise. But lately I’ve sort of gotten a second wind with the exercise thing. I ran my first 5k race last week (and came in under 30 minutes), I’m playing more squash than ever, and I started working out again and keeping track of my workouts in a little book I set up in Indesign a few years ago. My last record in the book before this year was sometime in May 2003 - in other words, that was the last time I was serious. I’ve also signed up for another 5k race later this summer.
It feels good. I forgot how good it feels to get a good workout in, or just some exercise in general. I ran almost 5 miles with Marie yesterday - something I never thought I would, or could, do. The rest of the day I felt more productive and in better spirits overall.
